Zinder, Norton (David)
(n. 7 nov. 1928, Nueva York, N.Y., EE.UU.).

Biólogo estadounidense. Obtuvo su Ph.D. en la Universidad de Wisconsin. Descubrió la transducción genética (la transferencia de genes de un tipo de microorganismo a otro por un agente como los bacteriófagos) en las bacterias Salmonella. Empleando esta transducción, investigadores posteriores pudieron demostrar que los genes bacterianos que afectan ciertos procesos fisiológicos se agrupaban, en lo que actualmente se conoce como operones. Sus experimentos también condujeron al descubrimiento del primer bacteriófago que contenía ARN como su material genético.
